Privacy Policy
Effective date: 6 July 2026
The short version: Textualy works fully offline and collects no personal profile about you. There is no advertising, no cross-app tracking, and no behavioral analytics. The only data that leaves your device is subscription/purchase information, used solely to manage your subscription (via Apple and RevenueCat). Everything else you do stays on your device.
1. Who we are
Textualy ("the app", "we", "us") is a spelling and pronunciation memory game for iPhone, iPad and Mac. This policy explains how the app handles information. You can reach us any time at 1anfibi@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, email, or contacts. The only data collected is purchase information when you subscribe: the fact of your purchase and its status (active, expired, renewed). This is processed by Apple and by RevenueCat (our subscription-management provider) to unlock and validate your subscription. It is tied to an anonymous purchase identifier, not to a personal profile, and it is never used for advertising or tracking. In Apple's App Privacy terms this is declared as "Purchases," used for App Functionality and not linked to your identity.
3. Data stored on your device
To function as a learning app, Textualy stores some information locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else:
- Learning progress — your words, levels, streaks, statistics, weakness map ("Error DNA") and spaced-repetition schedule are stored on-device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Settings & preferences — such as your chosen languages, difficulty, theme and notification time.
- Free-trial timing — a small marker recording when your free trial began is stored securely in the device Keychain. This lets the trial persist even if the app is reinstalled, to prevent trial abuse. It contains no personal information.
Because this data lives only on your device, deleting the app removes your progress and settings. (The Keychain trial marker may persist by design, as noted above.)
4. No analytics, tracking, or advertising
We do not use behavioral analytics, advertising networks, or cross-app tracking, and we do not perform any App Tracking Transparency tracking. The one third-party service we use is RevenueCat, solely to manage and validate subscriptions; it receives purchase/receipt information but no browsing history, contacts, or personal profile. We do not use cookies or web tracking.
5. Speech and audio
The "Hear & Type" mode uses Apple's on-device text-to-speech (AVSpeechSynthesizer) to pronounce words. This processing happens on your device. Textualy does not record, store, or transmit your microphone input — the app does not listen to you.
6. Notifications
If you enable reminders (daily reminder, streak rescue, come-back nudges, trial-ending), these are local notifications scheduled entirely on your device. No server is involved and no data is sent anywhere to deliver them.
7. Subscriptions and purchases
If subscriptions are offered, all purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store / Apple ID account. We never see or handle your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
To validate subscription receipts we may use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. Receipt validation may occur server-side, but it does not involve collecting personal data that identifies you, and it is tied to your anonymous purchase/receipt information — not to a personal profile we build about you.
8. Children's privacy
Textualy is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: there is no sign-up, no messaging, no advertising, and no personal profile. The only data collected is anonymous purchase information when someone subscribes. Parents can use Textualy with confidence.
9. Data security
Since we do not collect or transmit your data, there is no personal data on our servers to be breached. On-device data is protected by your device's own security, and the trial marker is stored in the platform Keychain.
10. Your rights
You are always in control. You can reset all progress from within Settings, or delete the app to remove on-device data. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — but you're welcome to contact us with any question.
11. Changes to this policy
If we ever update this policy, we will revise the effective date above and post the new version on this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
